Ives of Burnham Market automaton Longcase clock

A fine quality “father time” automata longcase clock by John Ives of Banham Market (Burnham Market).

A fine oak case with typical Norfolk crest and long trunk door.

A brass arch dial with rocking father time in original & unusual devil features and colours, also having date & second dials.

The 8 day movement striking the hours on its bell.

Stands 89 1/2″ tall.

Note… there is no record of any “Ives” working in Norfolk, & there is a “Banham” only in Norfolk nowhere else so this unrecorded maker made this clock in one of these two villages and in my opinion it was Burnham Market.
