Brown of Harleston Longcase Clock
A fine Longcase clock by William Brown of Harleston
The case is very well made hard to come by flame mahogany which would of cost a fortune in those days, the design is typical of a Norfolk clock because of the crest and of the long trunk door shaped top.
The 1st period arch dial is very well painted signed by the maker & has both date & seconds dials then to the arch the movement of the rolling moon.
An 8 day duration movement striking the hours on its bell.
Standing just 80 1/4″ tall.
Circa 1820.
